Take equal parts noise rock / doom metal / a bit of shoegaze / industrial / post-punk and you will get something that kind of resembles this. Certain tracks crawl with an insidious darkness that is punctuated with the immediate vocals, creating an unnerving feel. The heaviest portions of the album are the highlights. Dialing back some of the shoegaze-like sounds and atmospheric thickness from their previous album, it is a more forward driving and direct experience.
